The looming prospect of AI capabilities and its expected impact on the future of digitalization has become a cornerstone topic in the technological landscape. Adding to it, Elon Musk, the billionaire tech tycoon, in one of his recent interviews speaking alongside British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, highlighted the potential threat of artificial intelligence by stating, "It could eventually put everyone out of a job." While this significantly surged, steaming debates by raising profound questions about its potential to surpass human cognitive capabilities, he may not mean to be in complete favor of the entire replacement of the human brains. Well! This perspective itself subtly reflects the substantial strides AI and its companion technologies have already taken, and it stands beyond contradiction.
But it is twofold and entirely depends on how it is implemented. As discussed above, it can be a transformative force, adding to convenience, making lives faster and better, and putting the world at ease.
The skills required to work alongside AI systems often differ from traditional job requirements; hence, rapid AI development is anticipated to outpace human potency, leading to a potential gap and subsequent job displacement for those unable to adapt.
-AI systems can discern patterns, extract insights, and refine their decision-making abilities over time. Well! This quality can be employed to “give wings to innovation and ideas.”
It is an unavoidable fact that AI is becoming an integral part of the global industrial ecosystem. Thus, it becomes imperative to approach AI advancements with a critical eye, ensuring that its showering benefits are distributed equitably.
As more and more artificial intelligence is entering the world, more and more
emotional intelligence must enter into leadership.
~ Amit Ray
The depth and breadth of human cognitive capacities have persisted since the inception of humanity and have been recognised since the dawn of civilisation. There shall not be any scope of doubt in anticipating what the human brain can create as “the world has witnessed it in all its possible forms, and it still goes on and on. Right from its cognitive and analytical prowess, emotional intelligence, creativity, and a nuanced understanding of social dynamics, the world has borne witness to its myriad manifestations. However, comparing emotional intelligence to AI on the grounds of their individual capabilities would be unjust, as AI is not merely about creating machines but a robust attempt to simulate the brilliance of the human brain OR to be put in the wisest way possible, we can say that, the human brain is the only inspiration behind emergence and growth of artificial intelligence.
Another pertinent reason for extracting nectar-like qualities from the AI and balancing it with emotional intelligence is to make it more reasonable and ethical while involving it in transparent decision-making processes to bring about much-needed positive transformations through development, making it a valuable transformative force over the popular adjective that calls it a destructive force. So, it’s not a matter of either/or but an appreciation for both.
The development and implementation of AI are already on a large scale and benefitting diverse sectors globally, impacting people's lifestyles and industry patterns across the globe. However, the appetite of the world to embrace its potential is way too healthy, and we all know it, as we always need more! , for the development and betterment.
Looking at it 10 years forward brings much more curiosity to what else it has for us as AI may continue to enhance the convenience and efficiency of our everyday tasks. We might see advancements in virtual assistants, chatbots, and smart home devices that can better understand and respond to our needs and play a crucial role in addressing global challenges and developing sustainable solutions while continuing its impact in giant force on healthcare, logistics, education and many such, we could ever imagine.
Although it makes sense to worry that developing clever systems may spell the human intervention to some extent, it cannot entirely outsmart it as it ought to have ethical leadership as a guiding force. Above all, it's important to note that the development of AI should always prioritize ethical considerations, privacy concerns, and transparent decision-making processes with proper governance.
